Flag Donations for the WWI and WWII Memorial are Welcomed.
The WWI and WWII Memorial was erected during the 75th anniversary year of the cemetery. The octagonal cement base supports a 44-foot aluminum flag pole from which is flown a U.S. flag, donated in honor of a deceased veteran.
A plaque with the famous picture of marines raising the U.S. flag on Iwo Jima is mounted on the base of the Memorial.
Flag donations are welcomed. The honored veteran does not have to be buried in Bohemian National Cemetery. Each day, the name of the veteran being honored is displayed at the base of the Memorial.
